Birmingham Centre for Media and Cultural Research produces collaborative research within the field of media and cultural studies.
We were approached to design a new website for the centre that gave the research staff the ability to write about their work in various formats. These include news articles, events, projects and publications. Research updates are filtered by theme and cluster. Each staff member's profile also displays the posts they have authored allowing content to be searched by author, topic, or format.
The design requirement also included a new visual style. We kept this quite minimal and understated with a typographic focus for the logo and limited colour palette to ensure a simple consistency with all design outputs.
