Landing Page: Design for the Music Industry

We have been working with the music industry since Wild Ilk Design Studio was founded in 2010, designing packaging for music releases and artwork to promote events and festivals. These projects are some of the most exciting and fulfilling we have had the privilege of working on.

These projects often require the creation of a visual identity, rather than focus on logo design or more traditional approaches to branding we find that investing our time in developing artwork serves a similar purpose, with exciting results. This involves experimenting with traditional techniques such as lino or woodcut printing, analogue photography, or illustrative mark making. We find that these physical processes result in very rich, organic, visual solutions, that are well suited to the subject matter

We work closely with our clients providing all of the design support they need, consulting with them initially regarding the creative direction of the project and then also including them in ongoing discussions as we develop ideas and concepts.

We are experienced in the application of the visual styles we have created, to various pieces of print and digital collateral. This may include a printed festival programme, interactive web presence, poster and flyer series or digital graphics to be used on social media platforms. We have strong links with very high quality printers in various parts of the UK and regularly manage complex print runs for our clients, frequently working to very tight deadlines that must be kept.

Designing packaging for music releases is an incredible opportunity for collaboration with musicians and a challenge that we relish. We have designed limited edition 12” vinyl records, CD digi-packs and provided artwork for digital releases for artists from electronic, folk and jazz backgrounds.

We tailor our approach to each client's budget and requirements, providing bespoke design solutions for each project we work on.
