Directed by Jon E Price, Blue Skies is a short film about a growing jazz scene in London. The film premiered online on Dazed last week.
We got involved with the project to help with titles and credit design. Given the major jazz influence on Blue Lab Beats, the main musicians featured in the film, we looked at classic album covers for Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins and many other Blue Note artists. A heavy Sans-Serif typeface set with zero line height and two tone colour scheme emerged as a strong, relevant graphic style to accompany stills taken from the film.

Blue Lab Beats have an album to be released in the next few months so look out for that in your local record shop, we will certainly be adding it to the Wild Ilk playlist.
